How to use cPanel to manage your email accounts
Log into your cPanel
You will need to log into cPanel in order to create a new email account, change passwords, and/or set quotas.
Create a new email account
To create a new email account in cPanel, log in and select 'Email Accounts' in the 'Email' section of your main cPanel page, then select 'Add Email Account'. You will then need to choose a username, password and quota.
Choosing a username
Your username should be as short as possible and easy to spell. Use a nickname or your initials if possible.
Creating a secure password
Don’t use your cat’s name followed by someone’s birthday. You want something a little bit more complicated for security purposes (i.e; something ‘hackers’ cannot figure out or hack). You want to use something with special characters (i.e; !@#$%^&), upper and lower case letters, numbers.
Setting a quota
Setting a quota is basically setting the megabyte to gigabyte storage limit for e-mail space for each account. For example a website that is pretty basic that doesn’t have picture/video is going to use a lot less storage so set the storage low. Your website and your e-mail share the same storage space so make sure you have adequate space for both.
How to send and receive e-mail
You can send/receive email via webmail or using a native email app. See our KWR e-mail guide for more info on how to do this.
